Visual poetry by Gina Correll & Sara Pisak
Heart of the Home
Rising midnight hour
Hammers strike, chimes bellow
Soft coos paired ear-piercing shrieks.
Harmonious guillotine pendulum slices.
-All Fades Out-
Ceasing movement, dissipating beats.
Ticking hands remain frozen,
Upon the moon’s mortal face.
Limbo soul: between paradise and soil.
Pulsating veins careen through velveteen fabric.
Dangling in humid haze,
Closer to heaven’s objectives while,
The sun splatters landscape shadows.
Until leaves metamorphize into mood rings.
And synchronizing nipping morning air
Revives a paralyzing fear of heights.
A reminder: fall is inevitable.
