I Feel Stereophonic

you open your mouth in another room & music plays

the door closes          this is exactly how I want it

I'm sorry that I'm only one planet          all that I know

seems like an accident          me throwing darts

at a board I can't see          I feel discovered

then undiscovered          human then something different

there is music in this room too          there are ghosts

& clouds in the dark           so close the door quietly

tell me again how memory is just a necessary fiction

I'm so superstitious          I aim my tape recorder

at everything I don't want to forget          what I mean is:

my priorities are misaligned
