Poetry by Sam Marlatt
Mulberry Boulevard
Color me auroras on amphetamine
dancing, or a hurricane,
hurtling cherry blossoms.
Cloud nine & crystalline.
Color me meadows painted lavender,
& orchid petals falling
through an hourglass.
Color me cascades tinged
cerulean & crimson.
Color me rosaries of rose red
& saffron to swathe my palm,
so I may pray past this
horizon as it burns lust.
Color me an iridescent schizophrenic
tripping out with Jimi Hendrix.
Color me kissing the violescent sky.
Color me like your amethyst
eyes, limelight & lilac.
Color me vivid, Veronica:
With mulberry & magenta.
Color me back to when we
stumbled along void boulevards
until fuchsia fell upon us.
Color me auroras on amphetamine
dancing, or a hurricane,
hurtling cherry blossoms.
Cloud nine & crystalline.
Color me meadows painted lavender,
& orchid petals falling
through an hourglass.
Color me cascades tinged
cerulean & crimson.
Color me rosaries of rose red
& saffron to swathe my palm,
so I may pray past this
horizon as it burns lust.
Color me an iridescent schizophrenic
tripping out with Jimi Hendrix.
Color me kissing the violescent sky.
Color me like your amethyst
eyes, limelight & lilac.
Color me vivid, Veronica:
With mulberry & magenta.
Color me back to when we
stumbled along void boulevards
until fuchsia fell upon us.
