"In Her Burning: A Surreal Diary," audio drama podcast by Sin Ribbon
"In Her Burning: A Surreal Diary" is an audio drama set in a dark and fictional world, told through the audio diaries of the protagonist. In an isolated society, teenage Erith has been chosen for Polishing, a ritualistic surgery that erases one's irises so the individual may see the Volucris—strange and enigmatic creatures that live in an alternate realm only visible to the Polished. She discovers a new, haunting reality after her procedure that warps light into darkness and reveals hidden secrets about the world. The story explores issues of bodily autonomy, personal liberty, and challenges of growth in a small but strict world. Main characters Erith and Calyx are both subjected to Polishing, and while Erith is resistant to the changes forced upon her, she comes to find meaning in her journey. As with life, we are challenged by things we never wanted to face, and Erith and Calyx must determine how they will overcome these obstacles despite the restrictions placed upon them. "In Her Burning" is a story about walking the honest path that is true to the self, even if it is demanding and brutal.

Limited by time and availability, the podcast had to remain manageable and thus could only be one season. Sin hopes down the road to explore the story further, possibly remaking and expanding the series in the process. Nevertheless, she hopes the story will impart a sense of strength and understanding onto its listeners. It was a wonderful experience, and Sin wishes to express her gratitude to the cast, crew, and newfound fans in the audio drama community that have supported this project.
